Jim:If I were you, I would go abroad first.
Laura:Well, you know, you’ll have to have a lot of money in order to study abroad.
Jim:But your parents have the money. They can support you.
Laura:I wouldn’t say that. I’m grown up. I don’t want to spend my parents’ money any more. It’s theirs.
Jim:You might as well say that, but Chinese parents live for their children. Besides, you’re their only child.
Laura:I don’t want them to live for me. I want them to live for themselves. So, in a way, I’m different.
